Manufacturer of Organic Color, Curl, Care and Control Systems and Organic Connect has announced that they will begin to replace Propylene Glycol with the natural based Propanediol.
We are pleased to announce that Herb UK is removing Propylene Glycol from their products. This is in response to some consumers who have expressed concern about this ingredient. Herb UK had used USP pharmaceutical grade Propylene Glycol and considered it to be safe for use. In keeping with their company ethos “To manufacture and distribute the most natural and gentle products available”, they felt the need to take it out of all relevant products.
Propanediol, a renewably sourced material, will replace Propylene Glycol. Derived from the sugars in corn kernels, it is a certified organic ingredient. Using Propanediol is therefore in keeping with Herb UK’s mission of using the most natural ingredients possible. Some of the key benefits of using Propanediol are that it is an effective moisturizer, it replaces a synthetic ingredient with a natural one and it has Ecocert certification.
Ecocert is an inspection and certification body established in France in 1991 by agronomists aware of the need to develop environmentally friendly agriculture and of the importance of offering some form of recognition to those committed to this method of production.”This is great news for our customers who are always looking for cleaner salon products.” Says Rebecca Gregory, Organic Salon Systems Technical Director, “Our salons and their clients always appreciate efforts made to evolve the products they use into something more natural”.
